In Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's incomparable 20-year pro career, he participated in 19 All-Star Games and won six NBA titles. Throughout the years, the protective goggles he wore became as much a trademark of Jabbar's game as his unstoppable "sky hook." Kareem originally started wearing the goggles after an eye injury suffered in college. This pair shows the proper taping around the nose piece and arms which secure the elastic support band. These googles were acquired by our consignor directly from Jabaar. An exceptional piece of original game-used equipment from one of the greatest players in basketball history.
Provenance: This lot originates from a gentleman who has enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood as an agent for many well-known athletes and entertainers. His professional and personal network enabled him to amass a significant collection of memorabilia, nearly all of which was given to him directly from the athletes and entertainers themselves. All of these items are being introduced to the marketplace here for the first time. While our consignor remains anonymous, SCP Auctions will issue an LOA for each game-used item attesting to its player-direct provenance.
