Featured here is a pair of Paul Kariya Anaheim Mighty Ducks game-used and autographed items from the early 2000's including his Easton gloves and Easton stick. Kariya won the Hobey Baker Award (top collegiate player in country) at the University of Maine and was selected 4th overall in the 1993 NHL entry draft by the Mighty Ducks. He spent his first 9 seasons in Anaheim before playing for Colorado, Nashville and St. Louis. A highly-skilled finesse player known for his speed and puck-handling, Kariya finished with exactly 300 goals and averaged more than a point per game during his career. On the international stage, Kariya represented Team Canada’s National Team and won a Gold Medal in the 2002 Olympics.
The purple, teal and gray Easton gloves show solid game use with discoloration on the inner fingers from sweat and puck and other contact transfer marks on the outer leather material. Kariya has signed the outside of each glove in 8-9/10 silver marker. In addition, we have Kariya's brown-coated Easton 'ULTRA LITE GRAPHITE 100' stick. It comes with a white tape job at the knob, but no tape on the blade where Kariya has signed in beautiful 9/10 gold paint pen. The stick shows moderate game, with a crack/puncture about halfway up the shaft. The two items come largely as-issued and problem-free.
Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
