In 1963, Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Don Drysdale turned in another very stellar season, going 19-17 with a 2.63 ERA and 251 strikeouts and helping Big Blue win the World Series in the process. He was named to his third straight All-Star team and fifth overall. The game was played on July 9 at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, home of the Indians. Big Don came on in relief in this one, pitching two scoreless frames to close out the game and save a 5-3 victory for the National League. This lot offers Don Drysdale’s 1963 Major League Baseball All-Star Game Participatory Award, a lovely chafing dish set that looks like it belongs at the Four Seasons buffet. The three-part chafing dish (approx. 17" by 10" by 7") made with Sheffield silver tops is equipped with five Sterno fuel stations of various sizes, two decorative serving dishes made by F.B. Rogers Silver Co.. and a small metal cup with top made by Oneida Silversmiths. The middle silver top reads “ALL-STAR GAME 1963 DON DRYSDALE.” The silver is somewhat tarnished, but overall the set remains in excellent shape and is ready for your gourmet buffet desires.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
