In 1955, during his second season of minor league play, Dodgers’ pitching great Don Drysdale played for the Class AAA Montreal Royals of the International League. The 18-year-old Drysdale went 11-11 with a 3.33 ERA in his lone season with the Royals, his last minor-league stop en route to Major League stardom. A young Tommy Lasorda was a teammate of Don's on that '55 Royals team that posted a league-best 99-59 record to win the International League title. This lot features the Montreal Royals International League Champions 10 karat gold ring that was awarded to Drysdale. It boasts a real 15 point diamond set atop a beautiful Dodger blue stone in the center, with embossed lettering that reads "MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS" surrounding the top. Crossed bat, glove, and ball designs adorn both shanks along with the year "1955.” Inside the band is stamped "Dieges & Clust 10K.” Ring size is 9.5; weight is 18 grams. An early sign of success in Drysdale’s eventual Hall of Fame career.
