Colorful 19th Century 12 1/2" statue of a baseball player holding a ball in his hands. The "Pitcher" is one of a series of baseball figures produced by the German manufacturer Gebruder Heubach during the 1880's. Beautiful paint job on statue in great condition with only a repaired hairline crack on the neck. Figure is very clean and would make a great display piece. Stampings "Geschuetzt-Gesetzlich" appear under the base.
