Over the course of his career, Charles Barkley wasn’t shy about expressing his feelings with a one-finger salute. In 1998 he was fined $10,000 for foul language and giving the finger to fans and as recently as 2010 he was caught jokingly flipping off his Inside the NBA co-hosts. This Type 1 photo dates to an even earlier period of Barkley’s career and captures the Hall of Famer just about to raise a finger in disgust at something that had just happened on the court. A rare study of an elite athlete allowing his frustration to show. The photo has various production crop marks in its white borders. The back has a Gary G. Dineen/Winning Images credit label and a 11-7-91 date stamp along with various handwritten production markings. The photo has been encapsulated and graded Type 1 Authentic by PSA.
