Former NBA All-Star power forward Connie Hawkins was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992. Also a standout player in the ABA, he was named to the ABA’s All-Time Team. In 1968, in fact, Hawkins won the ABA MVP, ABA Playoffs MVP and won the ABA Championship with the Pittsburgh Pipers. A four-time NBA All-Star, his No. 42 was retired by the Phoenix Suns. But from 1973 through ’75 he played for the Los Angeles Lakers and contributed greatly. This lot includes his game-worn Lakers away jersey from circa 1974. On the front center tail is heavily-faded “Tiernan” manufacturer’s tag. Across the front reads “LAKERS” in yellow on white tackle twill. Player number “42” appears on the front and on the back in white on yellow tackle twill. Across the back reads player name “HAWKINS” in yellow on white tackle twill sewn directly onto the purple mesh jersey. The jersey shows extensive laundering, is slightly faded and the piping has taken on a pinkish hue. This jersey is properly tagged and shows outstanding game use by a former NBA great.

Includes Auction Letter of Authenticity from Grey Flannel.
