Roger Kaiser was an Indiana high school basketball star and then an outstanding college player at Georgia Tech.

There were not many NBA teams in his day, so even for talents like Kaiser there were limited pro basketball opportunities. Upstart leagues like the American Basketball League (ABL) provided an outlet for players and fans to see these skilled players in action. Teams also popped up in unserved markets, like Philadelphia in 1962 when the Warriors moved to San Francisco.

Presented here is Kaiser's #15 Philadelphia Tapers red Wilson size 42 jersey. The name Tapers came from the teams sponsor, a manufacturer of adhesive tape. No, we are not kidding!
