PSA/DNA GU 7 letter now posted.

Willie Mays is one of the greatest living athletes, let alone ballplayers, in the history of competitive sports, a five-tool superstar that ESPN ranked #2 on its list of the top 100 baseball players ever. The 1951 National League Rookie of the Year and two-time N.L. MVP was the first player to reach both the 500 Home Run and the 3000 Hit plateaus. Offered here is one of Willie's game bats from the 1960's when the Sey Hey Kid was the best centerfielder in the Majors.

The Adirondack model 113A ash bat, measuring 35" and weighing 33-1/3 ounces, shows evidence of light use with some ball marks and stitch impressions on the right barrel. There are green bat rack streaks on the handle as well. The model number 113A is carved into the knob, with Mays' iconic number "24" is written in faded marker. Mays was the rare star who used both Louisville Sluggers and Adirondack bats throughout his career. The center brand label dates this one to 1961-67 when Mays was piling up gargantuan numbers, Gold Gloves awards and All-Star nods faster than anyone in the game.

Includes a PSA/DNA LOA from bat expert John Taube, who has graded this special piece of lumber a GU 7.
