Impressive and scarce circa 1940s University of Texas Longhorns game worn Bobby Layne sideline warm up jacket in pristine condition. The burnt orange-colored jacket fits the 1940s Texas color scheme before the university adopted its current burnt orange hue. The rear side of the jacket features arched, white felt letters reading "TEXAS" while "22" can be seen on the left shoulder. A Wilson size 40 label is sewn in on the interior collar. An excellent piece of vintage college football history worn by one of UT's greatest quarterbacks in their illustrious program. Teammate Doak Walker described Layne as "a guy who never lost a game -- the clock just ran out on him." This lot is accompanied by an SCP Auctions LOA.
