Featured here is an Official National League baseball signed by Hall of Fame catcher Roger Bresnahan. "Roger P. Bresnahan" is in blue 9/10 on the sweet spot but the entire autograph has been enhanced. Thanks to the good people at James Spence Authentication for revealing the ball's enhanced trace over. The autograph has been deemed authentic by JSA but noted that the enhancements were not done with ill intent but rather to preserve a signature that was fading. These types of enhancements were commonplace back in the old days of collecting unfortunately. The ball presents in EX condition with hardly any toning but there are some blemishes and some mild stains on the north panel and on the Spalding markings.  There is no President's name presented anywhere on the ball, which is also perplexing to us. It has been speculated that this ball was supplied to the American Assocaition for use in its league games (which would explain the omission of the NL president's facsimile autograph on the ball) and was signed by Bresnahan during his playing days with the Mudhens. Bresnahan Balls are super rare and the last time this example came to auction, it sold for nearly $6,000.  Bresnahan died in 1944 and was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1945. Very few collectors ever procured a signature from the hall of fame ball player.  This specimen would fit nicely with any advanced collection and is probably the closest one can get to a truly un-edited example. Overall conditon of the ball is VG-EX.
