Walter “Big Train” Johnson spent his entire 21-year career with the Washington Senators. A member of the Hall of Fame’s original Class of 1936, the hard-throwing right-hander earned 417 victories, struck out 3,509 batters and posted a career 2.17 ERA. He is certainly on the short list of Greatest Pitchers of All Time.

Offered here is a rare Walter Johnson single signed Official American League (Ban Johnson) baseball from the 1920-24 era when The Big Train was still a dominant force in his early-mid 30s. The 1924 campaign culminated with his second AL MVP and the Sens' only World Series triumph in franchise history. Johnson has signed this lovely ball in black steel tip fountain across the sweet spot. The signature has faded considerably from age and exposure over its century lifespan, yet it remains perfectly legible. The Reach ball has some scattered white scuffing, yet has maintained remarkably all manufacturer stampings almost to their original fine bold blue print. One of the finers Walter singles we have handled. Includes full LOA from JSA.
