Vintage, circa 1915 through 1923, Sterling silver pin given to Pat Moran, manager of the Chicago Cubs. Moran spent 12 active years as a catcher, from 1909-1912, with Boston, Chicago, and Philadelphia in the National League. He managed Philadelphia from 1913 through 1918 and Cincinnati from 1919 through 1923. He took the 1915 Phillies to a National League title. and the 1919 Reds to a controversial World Series Championship. His career won-lost record is a very respectable 748-586. Sterling silver pin measures 1 1/4" in diameter. Center has batter surrounded by ornate design with 4 areas of blue enamel. Back engraved "P. J. Moran Mgr" and stamped "STERLING" at the bottom. Weight 10 grams.
