This lot offers an outstanding circa 1905-1910 Napoleon Lajoie Hillerich & Bradsby decal bat exhibiting evidence of outstanding use. Many ball marks are visible throughout the barrel while remnants of a decal are visible on the upper barrel. The Lajoie model was designated due to the knob, handle, and barrel dimensions which are consistent with similar Lajoie models. The uncracked bat remains in good condition while having excellent signs of use.

Resolution Photomatch examined this bat and determined that an image was found that they believed could be a possible photomatch. The undated image shows Lajoie wearing a Cleveland jersey and holding the bat at the upper handle. The most promising characteristic would be the wood grain on the front of the lower handle of the bat. The bat pictures show very similar height and alignment to the possible photomatch. Michael Snyder has also examined the Lajoie bat and has concluded that the grain match could be a match to this bat. Refer to the Snyder LOA documents to examine the bat decal comparison. The Lajoie bat is accompanied by a full PSA LOA (Cert. #: 1B26178), a Resolution Photomatch LOO (Cert. #: 427249), and a Michael Synder LOA.

Weight: 44.1 ounces. Length: 34.75".
