Gilliam was on his honeymoon in 1971 when he learned he had been traded to the Atlanta Hawks. As unexpected as it was, the change scenery turned out to be a blessing as “Bitty” had a career renaissance, posting a career high 83.8 free-throw percentage and had the greatest night of his career when he scored 30 points in a game against Cleveland.

This unique style warm up/shooting shirt has a white colored body with red and white pin striped sleeves, placket and sides. An old-style Hawks logo is sewn to the left front chest in red and gold tackle twill. The front closes with four original and working snap buttons and “ATLANTA is arched across the back in yellow and red tackle twill. The collar has a Russell Southern Co. size “S” label with a cleaning tag and a white label with “GILLIAM” hand written in black marker. The shirt shows medium use with overall toning to the white surfaces throughout and puckering on the tackle twill graphics. There is a 1/4” square stain to the left of the falcon logo on the front chest and a 1” x 1” stain on the lower back of the shirt. Several loose threads can be seen on the graphics and perspiration stains on the left red and white pin stripe sleeves. A great version of rarely seen shooter’s shirt.
