The great Babe Ruth seemingly owned Major League Baseball during his
colorful playing days. The consummate showman always put on a grand
performance for the masses and upon his retirement in 1935, the Bambino
had a major league-leading 714 home runs to his credit. This lot
features an official Pacific Coast League (PCL) Wilson baseball
autographed by Ruth in blue ink on the sweet spot. The aged baseball,
circa 1944-48, shows signs of toning throughout and Ruth’s signature
(though legible) has faded over time.
