Bill Knickerbocker was a former major leaguer who played shortstop for the Cleveland Indians (1933–36), St. Louis Browns (1937), New York Yankees (1938–40), Chicago White Sox (1941) and Philadelphia Athletics (1942). He helped the Yankees to World Series titles in both 1938 and ’39. This lot includes a circa 1940 New York Yankees 24K gold-plated Mother of Pearl ladies compact that Knickerbocker gifted to his own mother. It measures 2” by 2.5” and includes two tiny mirrors.
