Offered here is Connie Hawkins’ 1992 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame sport coat that he wore at his induction ceremony on May 11, 1992. The Brooklyn native, who groomed his game at Rucker Park as a teenager, was forced to begin his professional career early in the ABL after being unfairly blackballed by the NCAA and NBA over a point-shaving scandal that he was never proven to have taken part in. After a five-year run with the Harlem Globetrotters, the 6’ 8” forward joined the Pittsburgh Pipers and promptly led them to the 1968 ABA Championship in his first season, also earning league MVP honors. “The Hawk” eventually found his way to the NBA, starring for the Phoenix Suns and making four straight All-Star teams (1970-73).

This maroon Jack Nicklaus sport coat by Yale Genton features the Basketball Hall of Fame patch and still has the original price tags and size tags inside one of the pockets (size is a 43 XL). This special coat was worn at the Induction Ceremony and is accompanied by three original snapshot photos that were taken during this special weekend of Connie and his fellow Hall of Fame inductees wearing their HOF induction jackets. In addition to Hawkins, posed in their HOF inductee jackets are Bob Lanier, Lou Carnesecca and Jack Ramsay. Accompanied with the jacket and photos is a plastic metallic colored stick pinned badge with the name “Connie Hawkins” emblazoned on the badge and “Hall of Famer." Includes LOA from Connie Hawkins' longtime girlfriend.
