Nicknamed "The Arkansas Hummingbird," Lon Warneke evenly split his 15-year career pitching for both the Cubs and Cardinals. After concluding his playing career, Warneke was an umpire in the minor leagues (1946-1948) and the National League (1949-1955). He later became a judge in his hometown of Mount Ida, Arkansas. Warneke is featured on this 42" tall by 34" wide (at top) cardboard standee produced by Red Man Tobacco. Because of their fragile construction and disposable nature, few such pieces exist today. This standee, assembled in three parts, shows only moderate handling wear. Excellent condition overall.
