At 6-1 and 188-pounds, John Victor McNally, the famed "vagabond halfback", was a superb running back and possibly the finest receiver in the National Football League during his era. He possessed unbelievable speed and also could throw passes and punt with the best. On defense he was a ball hawk and a deadly tackler. He played on five NFL teams in 14 seasons in the 1920's-30's, but his best years came with the Green Bay Packers, with whom he was a major contributor to four championship teams in 1929, 1930, 1931, and 1936. McNally assumed his "Johnny Blood" alias from a Rudolph Valentino movie titled "Blood and Sand". Offered here is a one page "Fundamentals of Football" final exam completed by McNally in high school featuring what could be one of the earliest McNally signatures known. The front of the page features printed test question regarding football technique with McNally's handwritten answers recorded on back in blue ink. His signature appears on the front upper right corner and rates 9 out of 10. McNally's grade of "B" appears on the front in red. A truly rare and unique document from this early pro football Hall of Famer. EX-EX/MT condition.

Includes LOA from PSA/DNA.
