Charlie Simmer was a forward in the NHL, most known for his scoring prowess especially during power play opportunities. Although he played for several teams, Simmer enjoyed an eight-year stretch with the L.A. Kings from 1978 to 1985. During the 1983-84 campaign, Simmer turned in outstanding personal numbers by racking up 44 goals and 49 assists through 79 regular-season games. For his efforts, Simmer was named the team’s most valuable player.

This lot features the oversized trophy Simmer was awarded by the Kings for his phenomenal play that season. The trophy, which stretches two feet tall, features a large, beautifully designed crystal vase on top that includes the following text etched on one side: “Charlie Simmer Most Valuable Player Los Angeles Kings 1983-84.” The 20-inch vase sits on top of a four-inch-tall black wooden base that measures 12” wide by 12” deep. The trophy weighs 28 pounds exactly.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions.
