Offered here is one of the top conditioned February 3rd, 1969 Sports Illustrated "Boston on Top" (Volume 30, Issue 5) magazines featuring Bobby Orr on the cover. Bobby penned his signature on this example on the right side in flawless 10/10 black permanent marker along with his iconic "#4" inscribed. The image shows Orr leaning against a hockey goal in his classic Boston Bruins black uni. Orr played ten glorious seasons with the Bruins, earning the Calder Trophy his rookie year of 1966-67, three Hart trophies as league MVP, nine All-Star selections, and an unprecedented eight straight Norris trophies as the NHL's top defenseman. CGC has encapsulated and given this magazine a 9.0 Very Fine/Near Mint grade. It is the second highest graded example with only one other "Qualified" and one "Universal" graded higher at 9.2 Near Mint-. (There are only 15 total graded examples in the CGC Census, and only four above 8.0 Very Fine. This is likely the highest graded signed version in the CGC Census.)
