This is the batting helmet that for one giddy summer reached iconic status that rivaled that of its wearer: a game-used jet-black Cal Ripken Jr. Baltimore Orioles batting helmet, looking for all the world like the one we picture in our mind's eye as we remember that epic 1995 summer when the American public was mesmerized by his pursuit of the all-time record for consecutive games played. Given to Bret Saberhagen by his one-time rival Ripken, this Size 7 3/8 Authentic Diamond Collection helmet shows good game use but is problem-free, with blazing gloss and no perceptible scratching on the crown and only a minor scratch noted on the brim. Ripken has signed in a spectacular silver Sharpie on the brim. Comes with an LOA from Bret Saberhagen.
