Nomar Garciaparra must have been reasonably thrilled to have Bret Saberhagen pitching his nasty stuff on behalf of the Red Sox rather than have to face him, so after Saberhagen was traded to Boston later in his career, the two-time AL Batting Champion presented his teammate with this game-worn and signed (five times) combination of a home Red Sox jersey, two batting gloves and shoes. The Size 36 Russell Athletic-tagged jersey has 1998 added tag but the colorful Boston All-Star Game '99 patch is on the left sleeve; the jersey shows good game use but is otherwise pristine and in as-issued and problem-free condition, with barely a whisper of fraying of the stitching on the embroidered "Boston" letters are around the red piping or basically immaculate "5" on the back. To the left of his number on the back Garciaparra has signed, "To Brett, You truly are the 'Ultimate Professional' Nomar Garciaparra" and added his No. 5 inscription. The Reebok shoes reveal enough game use for two batting champions, but remain in highly presentable and virtually problem-free condition, complete with attractive fine-point, silver Sharpie autopgraphs on the tongue flaps, with the dating 9/28/97 and his No. 5 added. The Louisville TPX model left and righ-hand batting gloves show significant game use but no dispiriting problems, along with black Sharpie autographs and dating on both. Comes with an LOA from Bret Saberhagen.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
