Addendum: This ball has been graded NM 7 by PSA/DNA.
Yankee moundsman Bob Shawkey posted a remarkable 15-season Major League pitching career. The Pennsylvania native pitched for two of the greatest managers in the game's history—Connie Mack and Miller Huggins. A four-time 20-game winner, Shawkey amassed 196 career victories with the Philadelphia A's and the Yankees.
Shawkey single signed baseballs are exceedingly scarce in the hobby, therefore we are pleased to offer this splendid example from the man who threw the first pitch at Yankee Stadium for the 1923 home opener. The ONL (Giles) ball features Shawkey’s inscription, "My Best Wishes Mike ‘Bob’ Shawkey” on the sweet spot in 7-8/10 blue ink. The ball is mildly toned with no distracting blemishes. One of the best Shawkey singles we’ve seen among the few in circulation. PSA/DNA certified (H58822) in ball cube indicating NM 7 grade (81980429).
