From one of the greatest competitors of any era comes this game-worn batting helmet used by Bob Gibson during his career with the Cardinals. At the front top is the team “STL” decal. Player number “45” decal appears on the back. The inner padding is fully intact and Gibson's No. 45 is written on the inner dome padding. The inside of the helmet has the American Baseball Cap manufacturer's Size 7 1/4 label toward the front and the smaller "Pro-Celd" label adjacent; the raised letter American Baseball Cap patent information appears on the bottom of the brim. The cap size has been handwritten in black marker on both sides of the helmet's interior, along with other extraneous black marker notations. The helmet shows game use on both the exterior and interior and is problem-free and without any significant issues. The Hall of Famer has signed his distinctive autograph in silver Sharpie along the front of the brim to great effect. The Official Major League Baseball Hologram is affixed to the bottom of the brim - 044816 FJ.
