During his 12-year career, all with the Yankees, Bobby Richardson was named to 8 All-Star teams. He played in 7 World Series and won the Most Valuable Player Award in 1960 for hitting .367 and driving in 12 runs. Offered here is a Hillerich & Bradsby "K55" signature model bat turned for the Bronx Bomber fixture for use in the 1964 Mid-Summer Classic. The 36-inch, 34-ounce white ash weapon features the "1964 ALL STAR GAME" barrel stamping just above Richardson’s facsimile signature. Earning MVP consideration for a fourth straight season (he finished 17th in the balloting) Richardson started and went 1-for-4 in the star-studded exhibition at Shea Stadium. The uncracked bat shows no game use, though surface marks and cleat marks throughout suggest it may have been on hand and at the ready.
