Bill “Moose” Skowron played nine MLB seasons in pinstripes for the New York Yankees (1954 to ’62) and was one of the most beloved Yankees from yesteryear. This lot includes Skowron’s game-worn Yankees’ home uniform that he wore when he participated in the team’s 2010 Old Timers’ Game at Yankee Stadium. The size 48 Authentic Collection Majestic Athletic jersey is made of 100% polyester and includes two special tribute patches on it honoring former Yankee team owner George M. Steinbrenner and longtime team public address announcer Bob Sheppard, a.k.a. “The Voice of Yankee Stadium,” as both of these New York Yankee mainstays passed away in 2010. The jersey also includes a sewn-in tag on the bottom left of the jersey reading “Skowron-14-48-‘10” indicating the player, uniform number, size and year. The matching pinstriped Authentic Collection Majestic Athletic pants also include a sewn-in tag on the waistband reading “14-Skowron-40/42-30-’10.” A Navy blue elastic belt completes the pants.
