The 1962 New York Yankees were a force to be reckoned with and first baseman Bill “Moose” Skowron made the most of his final season in pinstripes. In what would be his ninth season with the Bronx Bombers, Skowron batted .270 with 23 home runs and 80 runs batted in while helping the Yankees win the American League pennant once again and then the World Series over the San Francisco Giants in seven games. This is Skowron’s treasured prize from that season, his 1962 World Series ring. Skowron’s ring features a real diamond at center set in baseball diamond motif surrounded by "New York Yankees World Champions" on top. Both sides bear "1962" above the Yankee top hat logo amidst laurel leaves. The band interior was originally engraved “William J. Skowron Jr.” in script and stamped “Balfour 14k” but now only “William” is legible based on the fact that the ring was resized at a later date. The size 10½ ring is in excellent overall condition with only minor wear.
Includes Letter of Authenticity from the Skowron Family.
