One of baseball's greatest clubs, the 1961 Yankees won 109 games in the regular season (fourth best all-time) setting a then team record for home runs with 240. Almost half of those clouts were registered by the famed M&M boys, Mantle and Maris, in the course of their epic duel for the single season record. They stormed their way to their 26th American League pennant, and rolled through the World Series, defeating the Cincinnati Reds in five games. The team’s starting first baseman that year was Bill “Moose” Skowron who collected 150 hits including 28 home runs, good enough for third highest on the team. This is Skowron’s World Series ring from that memorable season. The ring features a real diamond at center set in baseball diamond motif surrounded by "New York Yankees World Champions" on top. Both sides bear "1961" above the Yankee top hat logo amidst laurel leaves. The band interior is engraved “William J. Skowron Jr.” in script and stamped “Balfour 14k.” The diamond was replaced at a later date. The size 10½ ring is in excellent overall condition with only minor wear.

Includes a Letter of Authenticity from the Skowron Family.
