One of the unsung heroes of the Yankee Dynasty in the 1950’s and 60’s was Bill “Moose” Skowron. The sure-handed first baseman with a highly productive bat spent nine of his 14 big league seasons in the Bronx where he played a pivotal role on five World Championship teams and made seven All-Star squads. 1958 was another solid campaign for Moose as he batted .273 with 14 homers and 73 RBI to earn another All-Star berth. More importantly, it was Skowron who provided the biggest hit for New York in the ’58 Fall Classic. Facing a Milwaukee Braves team looking to repeat as champions, the Yanks entered the 8th inning of Game 7 nodded at two before tallying four runs to seal it thanks to a clutch 3-run shot by Moose. Presented here is Skowron’s very own 1958 World Series ring from that outstanding season.

The stunning 14-karat gold ring features a genuine 35-point diamond on the face within a baseball diamond motif surrounded by "New York Yankees World Champions” in raised lettering. Both shanks bear "1958" above the Yankees top hat and bat logo amidst laurel leaves. The band interior is engraved “Bill Skowron” in lovely script. The size 10 ring weighs 26 grams and shows light to moderate wear. It comes with its original brown leather and suede Balfour presentation box with the Yanks logo and "Championship Award" embossed in gold on the lid. Few player rings from the most decorated team in sports ever hit the auction block, and this examples hails from a perennial All-Star during baseball's Golden Era.
