December 20, 1956 wire photo of the young Boston Celtics center Bill Russell and legendary coach Red Auerbach, signed by Russell to Auerbach. Russell has signed "To Red, the greatest coach in Pro ball Bill Russell". Very readable 6/10 vintage sepia colored ink inscription. Outstanding early Bill Russell signature from the very beginnings of his Hall of Fame career. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
