This is a wonderful piece of memorabilia from one of the Dodgers' great stars of the 1970's, shortstop Bill Russell, who anchored an infield that nudged its way into the record books for the greatest period of an intact infield at nearly 9 consecutive seasons (Cey, Russell, Lopes and Garvey). The 8 1/2-by-11-inch Los Angeles Dodgers defense play book has 43 pages (single-sided) detailing proper positioning of infielders on any number of defensive situations. The Ex-Mt condition book is printed in black-and-red, with Dodger blue covers front and back and plastic spiral binding. Russell has signed in bold, black Sharpie on the cover beneath the Dodgers logo, adding the inscription "My 1st LAD Defensive Play Book."
