Chick Gandil (1/19/88 - 12/13/70), Chicago White Sox, and his teammate, Charles 'Swede' Risberg, were generally believed to be the ringleaders of the group of players who became known as the "Black Sox" for throwing the 1919 World Series to the underdog Cincinnati Reds. He was the one responsible for recruiting and paying the other players involved in the fix. Gandil along with 7 others was permanently banned from baseball after the 1920 season by newly appointed Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. 3x5 index card with strong blue ink signature.

Hal Chase (2/13/83 - 5/18/47), New York Giants, was banned in 1921 for consorting with gamblers, betting on his own teams and other corrupt practices. He had previously been accused of fixing games as early as 1910, and was reportedly passed over for managerial opportunities due to the allegations. In 1918, the scrupulously honest manager of the Cincinnati Reds, Christy Mathewson, had suspended Chase mid-season for fixing games, and John McGraw persuaded Mathewson to trade him to the Giants. However, at the end of the 1919 season, National League president John Heydler found evidence that Chase had indeed taken money from gamblers in 1918. Chase had been informally banned from the major leagues. Very dark, black ink cut signature.

Heinie Zimmerman (2/9/87 - 3/14/69), New York Giants, was banned in 1921 for encouraging his teammates to fix games. He had been benched by McGraw and later sent home during the 1919 season, and had been informally banned from the majors. During the 1917 World Series, he chased the winning run across the plate and found himself having to deny having helped throw the Series. Despite some of these allegations, McGraw would not turn him in, not wanting to be the one responsible for having one of his players banned for life, McGraw would suspend him indefinitely however. Later McGraw would testify in court that Zimmerman conspired to fix games. 3x5 index card with strong blue signature

All signatures slabbed PSA/DNA Authentic.
