This ball brings together three giants of Yankees history: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Joe McCarthy. Ruth was the man whose trade to New York heralded make the Yankees into the greatest sports franchise in history. Lou Gehrig was the player whose immense talent coupled with his stoic modesty created the Yankees veneer of complete professionalism and Joe McCarthy was the man who deftly managed the team to seven World Championships and establishing the club’s reputation as the elite of the sporting world. Ruth has taken his customary place on the sweet spot, flanked on each side panel by Gehrig and McCarthy. The Draper and Maynard New Official League ball shows just slight toning. The signatures are in black fountain pen, the ink just slightly faded in places, most noticeably on Gehrig’s. A great ball representing the three founding pillars of Yankees baseball.
