Presented here is a signed one dollar bill autographed by Babe Ruth in 6-7/10 blue ink. Originally listed in our September 2007 Auction, the bill is now housed inside a framed display alongside an 8x10 black & white photo of Ruth and a placard touting his many feats on the baseball field. According to the previous listing, the well-worn dollar bill was signed
September 15, 1947, when Babe Ruth, his wife and manager stopped in the original
consignor's restaurant/bar, "The Inn 22", in Purdys, New York. Ruth was
driving the new car he had just received from the Baseball Hall of
Fame. Currency and peculiar items alike signed by The Babe are hard to find in the hobby. Understandably, this one has been circulating the market for over 10 years.
