A ball signed by Babe Ruth is a transcendent object. Its appeal reaches beyond the circles of sports memorabilia enthusiasts, earning iconic recognition in the larger realm of Americana. A superior example is offered here, a Babe Ruth single-signed Pacific Coast League baseball dated to the 1940s. The ball remains in near mint condition with little to no major blemishes on any panel. Babe Ruth autographed the ball on the sweet spot in bold, blue fountain pen, creating an excellent display for any collector. The PCL President stamp is featured on the northern panel relevant to the Ruth autograph. Clarence H. Rowland was the PCL president from 1944-1954, which would have been the era that Ruth signed the ball. “Official Pacific Coast League” is featured on the opposite sweet spot. The ball is accompanied by a full LOA from PSA (Cert. #: AI05345) for the autograph authentication.
