This is certainly an intriguing photo because of the attributed convergence of Babe Ruth and NFL Hall of Famer Bill Dudley. It's a wonderful black-and-white 8-by-10 of an older Ruth, apparently in the 1940's and possibly at a Yankees old-timers event, holding a bat and flanked by (reportedly) Dudley on the left side of the photo and another unidentified individual on the right. In addition to the legendary Ruth fountain pen signature, he's added an inscription "To My Friend Bill." Like so many Ruth autographs, it's nothing less than sensational in its crispness and clarity; the photograph itself has been pasted to a back page and has suffered some damage over time, including significant paper loss in two sections. None of the damage encroaches on the Ruth autograph, inscription of the images of the photo subjects.
