Boston Red Sox icon Ted Williams made his debut as a Sports Illustrated cover boy in August of 1955, a classic pose of the slugger kneeling in the on deck circle with two bats on his shoulder, deep in thought on how he was going to destroy the confidence of the poor fellow on the mound.
Ted's "splendid" penmanship has graced the cover as well, inked in bold blue marker, signed in a "sweet spot", and PSA/DNA has authenticated it.
CGC has graded the magazine a strong 7.0.
