Beautiful condition April 24, 1940 one page hand written letter from Washington Senator Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson on his personal stationary to his pen pal Eleanor Fleitman. Johnson has signed the letter with a perfect 9-10/10 vintage blue ink signature. Johnson was one of the first five players elected to the Hall of Fame in 1936, along with Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and Christy Mathewson. In the letter Johnson talks about his how his long walks outdoors remind him of baseball. He also offers a guess as to what Fleitman looks like and suggests they both "start hitch hiking and see where we would meet". Letter itself is in very nice condition with just the original folds and a couple of small pin holes. Original mailing envelope in nice condition also included.

Full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
