This classic pair of size 14-1/2 Converse Weapon shoes was worn by Bernard King during the latter part of the 1986-87 NBA season. The 2013 inductee into the Basketball Hall of Fame was an explosive scorer in a 14-year NBA career that featured four All-Star appearances and an NBA scoring crown in 1985. Knee problems forced King into retirement, ending with 19,655 points in 874 games for an average of 22.5 points per game. At the time of his retirement King ranked 16th on the all-time NBA scoring list. In 1987 King came back from a gruesome knee injury to play the final six games of the 1986-87 season for the Knicks, April 10-18, during which time he wore these offered sneakers. The white and blue high-top Cons exhibit solid game use and remain with all original elements intact. King has signed in black Sharpie on the outside of each shoe near the "B King" stamping.

These shoes come from the grandson of King's Greenwich Village landlord and include a typed letter of provenance. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
