1972 NCAA FOOTBALL 10K Gold National Championship ring presented to USC Trojans standout tailback Anthony Davis. This was the season in which the Trojans went a perfect 12-0, topping things off by crushing Big Ten Champion and No. 3 ranked Ohio State, 42-17, in the Rose Bowl. Red stone on top with "USC" in gold surrounded by "NATIONAL CHAMPIONS". "TROJANS", "1972", and a raised image of Tommy Trojan on one side with "DAVIS", "28” and “ROSE BOWL” surrounding a football helmet on the other. Three small diamonds are positioned right above “USC” inside the gold outline of the red stone. Inside of ring stamped "JOSTENS 10K.” Davis turned in a stellar season that year by rushing for 1,191 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns for the Trojans. He was nicknamed “The Notre Dame Killer” as he scored 11 touchdowns in three games against the Fighting Irish. In a 45-23 USC win on December 2, 1972, he scored six touchdowns against Notre Dame to set a new USC single game record. Two of those scores came on kickoff returns. Ring size 9.5. Weight 26 grams.
