2012 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim road jersey game worn by slugger Albert Pujols during his first season on the West Coast. Pujols had a solid year in 2012 hitting .285 with 30 HR and 105 RBI, a great season for most players but only good for the man who put up Hall of Fame statistics year after year in St. Louis. The gray jersey has "ANGELS" in red with black and white trim sewn on the chest. "5" in red with black trim sewn below. "BIG A" patch sewn on right sleeve with Angels Baseball patch sewn on the left. "PUJOLS" and large "5" in red with black trim sewn on back. Majestic Authentic, Size 52, and "SET 2 2012" tags sewn in front tail. Jersey exhibits light to moderate wear. The consignor received this piece from an inside source who works directly with the team.
The jersey comes with MLB Authentication hologram EK192457, which identifies the jersey as "team-issued - Aug. 16, 2012 - TB @ LAA." We have, albeit rarely, observed the MLB Authentication program using "team-issued" as a broader category that also encompasses game-used items. In addition, the Angels wore their home whites in this game as indicated by AP image 708984269537. Nevertheless, the jersey was presented to us as game-worn, and the evident stretching and light spotting in the shoulders and shirttail certainly attest to it having game-use.
