On September 16, 2012, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the New York Jets and cruised to a convincing 27-10 victory at Heinz Field. Pittsburgh wide receiver Antonio Brown had another big game as he hauled in a game-leading 79 yards on seven catches off the rifle arm of QB Ben Roethlisberger. Presented here is Brown's game-worn, signed and inscribed home black jersey photo-matched to that day’s memorable performance. For the 2012 season, the third-year pass catcher tallied 787 yards on 66 receptions and scored five touchdowns. It is the last year the 5’ 10” 180-lb. speedster out of Central Michigan finished a season without 100+ catches and 1,000+ receiving yards. AB is well on his way to enshrinement in Canton.
The Nike stretch Nylon jersey has Brown's player No. "84" sewn on the front, back and shoulders in white tackle twill, with "BROWN" in gold tackle twill sewn directly onto a black nameplate on the back. Nike manufacturer's tagging inside the collar has his size “42” with the special ON FIELD code "219110000G208" used to denote game jerseys, plus "2012" and "+4 LENGTH" flag tags on either side. The NFL shield logo appears below the front neck with the embroidered Steelers team logo patch on the left chest. Sleeves are customized with elastic hem at the ends. In addition to being photo-matched, the date this jersey was worn is further verified by a strip of tape affixed across the front numbers with "9-16-12 PGH-27 NYJ 10" marked in black, presumably by the Steelers' equipment manager (standard practice for dated Steelers gamers). Brown has signed and inscribed the back number “4” in 8-9/10 black felt pen with "Game Used 9-16-12" and "Pitt vs. NYJ.” The jersey shows an abundance of game use, most notably through multiple paint transfers, dirt and turf stains on the front and rear, making it very easy to photo-match. You can clearly see the white paint transfer next to the front '4' in the attached example.
