On August 4, 2007, Alex Rodriguez became the youngest member to join the 500 Home Run Club. At 32 years and 8 days old, A-Rod was only the 22nd player in history to reach that exalted career goal. Less than a week later, on August 10, A-Rod hit his 501st career home run off Roberto Hernandez of the Cleveland Indians. It was the shortstop turned third baseman's 37th long ball of the 2007 season and it came in the top of the 2nd inning to break a scoreless tie. The Yanks went on to beat the Tribe 6-1 that evening at Progressive Field in Cleveland. The ball was retrieved for A-Rod, which he then signed and inscribed “Game Used HR #501 Base Hit 8-10-07” in perfect blue ballpoint. The Rawlings Official Major League (Selig) ball shows significant use with surface abrasions and scuffs.

Includes signed LOA from Alex Rodriquez. MLB Auth. hologram # BB 495912. Full LOA from PSA/DNA for signature and inscription.
