No catcher in the history of the American League had won a batting crown until Joe Mauer did it in 2006, then he did it again in 2008 and 2009. He currently holds the highest career average while playing catcher (.328) and the highest single season average (.365) for a catcher. Joe Mauer wore this jersey during the July 2, 2013, 7-3 loss against the Yankees. Mauer caught the whole game for Minnesota and went 1 for 4 with an RBI and a walk. After the game the catcher signed the jersey and presented it to Yankees reliever Mariano Rivera to be auctioned by his church for charity.

The home pinstripe jersey has “Twins” across the front with Mauer’s number “7” in navy and red tackle twill. A Majestic label is in the lower left front tail with a white strip tag with “7 50 ’13” chain stitched in black. The left sleeve has the vintage Twins logo patch and the back has “MAUER” and his number “7” in navy and red tackle twill. MLB hologram is affixed below Mauer’s black marker signature on the “7”.

MLB Auth. # EK 409040. Includes copy of Steiner LOA signed by Rivera thanking our consignor for the purchase. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
