Alex Rodriguez hit his 599th career home run on July 22, 2010, during a Thursday night 10-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals at Yankee Stadium. It came on an 0-2 count against Royals reliever, Rob Tejada. A-Rod finished the game 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two doubles along with his home run. A-Rod would hit number 600 two weeks later against the Toronto Blue Jays, becoming the seventh and youngest player to join the 600 Home Run Club. He finished the 2010 season batting .270 while hitting 30 home runs, 125 RBIs, and earning his 13th MLB All-Star selection at age 35.
Offered here is Alex Rodriguez’s white pinstriped, button-down New York Yankees home jersey he was wearing when he blasted his 599th career home run. The front dirt stains make it easy to match to game footage of him rounding the bases. The classic Yankees logo is sewn on the left chest in navy twill. Sewn-in above the Yankees logo is a memorial patch for George Steinbrenner that reads “GMS”, “THE BOSS”, and George M. Steinbrenner III.” The jersey has “13” is sewn in on the back in Yankees blue for Rodriguez’s number. The unique jersey also features a memorial patch for Bob Sheppard and is sewn in on the left sleeve above a black memorial armband for Ralph Houk. The July 22nd game the first that the Yankees sported the black armband in honor of the legendary owner after he passed away just the day before. The MLB logo is sewn in the rear collar area. The Majestic jock tag has a “2010” tag to denote the year of use along with “Taper”, "48", & “+1” Body” for the sizing of the jersey. Below the Yankees logo on the left chest is inscribed with “Game Used Career HR #599 7/22/10” along with Rodriguez’s signature. The jersey shows excellent game usage with a huge infield dirt stain across the front.
