This is the well-known 18-by-24-inch art print from the famed sport artist Ron Lewis, who produced dozens of original works commemorating the exploits of legendary Hall of Famers, many among the most recognizable pieces in the hobby. And while this image is one of the instantly recalled configurations, there are three unique aspects to this particular print, numbered in edition size as 36/50 artist proof. With the original lithograph done in 1985, the inclusion of Mike Schmidt and Eddie Murray via two additional hand-done paintings makes this remarqued print all the more compelling in terms of collector interest. The two Hall of Famers Schmidt and Murray, who joined the 500 Home Run Club in 1987 and 1996, respectively, provides and unusual range of time to the finished piece, an element further expanded with a Mark McGwire autograph, presumably not provided until after he joined the club in 1999. That often-difficult signature is a neat addition to the lineup of one dozen blue-Sharpie signatures from the pictured members: Henry Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Reggie Jackson, Ernie Banks, Eddie Mathews, Harmon Killebrew, Murray, Frank Robinson, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and Schmidt. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA that attests to all 13 signatures. All elements of the print appear to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition, with a rough hand cut noted print on each side.
