This white satin calf-length Everlast robe with red and blue trim was worn by Muhammad Ali in his April 30, 1976 World Heavyweight title bout against Jimmy Young. The robe is in wonderful condition, showing significant fight use but remaining problem free. The fine quality satin robe has "Muhammad Ali" in block letters embroidered on the back in red tackle twill. The white silk sash is present, and like the robe itself shows appropriate wear. There is minimal fraying of any of the intricate red or blue stitched elements including Ali's name on the back or the "Ali 76" on the front, commemorating the United States Bicentennial that year. Showing moderate signs of wear and aging, the robe was originally part of the famed collection of Ali’s assistant trainer and cornerman Drew "Bundini" Brown. This robe along with many other significant Ali items was kept in Brown’s storage locker. After Brown’s death the locker contents were sold at auction by the storage facility, resulting in the entrée of many of the some of the most significant Ali items in collector’s hands today. Muhammad Ali fight worn robes have always and will always be the pinnacle objects among most boxing collectors. This is a truly special opportunity to acquire a magnificent example from the later years of Ali's legendary career with exemplary pedigree.

Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from MEARS.
