Offered here is a full proof ticket from Roger Maris' MLB debut for the Cleveland Indians on April 16, 1957. The ticket's antiquated design captures the essence of mid-20th century baseball culture. The Indians hosted the Chicago White Sox that afternoon and the 22-year-old left-handed rightfielder from Hibbing, MN, went 3-for-5 with with a run scored in a 3-2 extra-inning loss. Of course, Roger would be best remembered for his heroics in pinstripes, especially his famous 61-homer season in '61 – an MLB record that stood for decades. The was graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. No "valid for entry" full tickets with actual seat numbers from Maris' MLB debut exist in the PSA population report. Only six total full proofs have been authenticated, with only two graded higher than this example.
